Product Overview
In 1796 Tennessee was admitted, and 1817 when Mississippi joined, no change to the flag was made. It was in 1818 a suggestion to return to the original 13 stripe pattern and simply add stars to the canton was agreed upon. There have been many Great Star flags over the years, but early records show that the 20-star Great Flag design was flown over the Capitol dome in 1818.
